Careers across the Trust
It has been an exceptionally busy term for Careers across the Trust. Our secondary and high schools marked National Apprenticeship Week in February, with a variety of presentations, assemblies and activities in lessons aimed at promoting this pathway.
Other events within these schools have included a Careers Drop Down Day at Studley High with employer encounters from Taylor Wimpey and HSBC and at Studley in Business meeting where students showcased their talents in Catering, Photography, Drama and DT.
Year 8 students at Ridgeway visited Wolverhampton Court for a brilliant work-place encounter, where they came an impressive third in the mock trial competition. Higher Education has also been a focus, with Oriel College, Cambridge visiting North Bromsgrove for a session on University life to Year 9 Scholars, Worcester University running a finance workshop with students at Studley High and three Sixth-Form subject taster days at Worcester University for Year 12 Psychology, Health and Social Care and Geography students. Furthermore, Year 9 students at both Studley High and North Bromsgrove have also been practising their enterprise skills this term with the very successful Coffee Shop Challenge and the Charity Enterprise Challenge.
Finally, it has been great to see our Young Reporters having their articles published. These students have received training from national publisher Newsquest and are now researching and writing articles on a variety of topics ranging from Bromsgrove’s oldest war veteran to Formula 1 and women in football.
