Train to teach with us!
Start your teaching career with Shires Teaching Alliance.
As a Regional Hub accredited by the University of Worcester, we work with a network of local primary and secondary schools to deliver high-quality initial teacher training through a one-year Postgraduate programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Training with Shires Teaching Alliance offers the best of both worlds: academic study alongside extensive classroom experience. From the very start, you’ll be immersed in school life, developing your skills, confidence and expertise with the support of experienced mentors and educators.
Throughout the programme, you’ll gain experience in at least two schools, enabling you to work with a range of pupils, settings and teaching approaches. As your confidence grows, so will your teaching responsibilities, helping you develop the knowledge, skills and professionalism needed for a successful career in education.
Our curriculum has been co-designed with the University of Worcester and school partners, combining university-based learning with practical training delivered in schools and regional training centres.
